The death of helping one another

I've been traveling for the past 10 years and observing people all over the world. I've always been an optimist and very much believed in the goodness of people.  The more I look the more I come to the conclusion that people are so afraid of responsibility that they would rather not help one another, then risk giving well meant advice and being wrong.  Could this be because of the high number of lawsuits as the newest form of "get rich quick" game?  I've visited couple of forums on the internet, and whenever I had an idea how to handle a situation in life I would then publish my thought.  By doing this others might point out my mistakes, maybe shed light on a different perspective on the subject or just give me feedback if I'm morally down right wrong!  After a couple posts I realized that I would get about 50-60 reads on my posting but rarely more then 1-2 comments.  I was compelled to give up, but I did give it another shot.  This time I also posted that I would not take anything for granted because I'm only there to get different angles.  Guess what?  Suddenly I had people sharing what they think, and what they see wrong with my logic.  We all have the power to help each other more then ever in the history of man kind through the Internet.  Instead we are playing shy just to make sure we are not liable. It will go a long way once we realize:

"I know you think you understand what you thought I sad, but I'm not sure you realized what you heard is not what I meant!"
